Beach Yoga & Labor Day Celebration

with Christen, Preston & the PYT Community

Date: Saturday, September 5th

Time: 7:00pm- whenever

Where: Marcinski Beach (Beach Marker 25/26)

We will start with a Restorative Yoga Practice on the Beach from 7:00- 8:00pm. Then we will move into our Pot-Luck party with drumming, music, dancing, and food all in celebration of Labor Day Weekend- the end of Summer. Everyone is welcome. Bring your family, children and even your pets.


Foundations of the Flow

with Christen & Preston Scott

Date: Saturday, September 19th

Time: 3:00- 5:00pm

Fee: $35 for members; $40 for everyone else

Learn how to access more power and ease in your practice. 
This workshop is designed to give you the foundation of our practice at the Power Yoga Tribe. We will review and practice breath, core stabilization and alignment of key poses so that you can have a more empowered and safe practice. Special attention will be given to Downward Facing Dog, High to Low Push-Up, Upward Facing Dog, as well as twists and backbends. You will learn how to avoid common injuries and find more strength and ease in your practice. Anyone and everyone could benefit from this workshop from the band new yogi to the advanced practitioner.

This program was designed by Baron Baptiste and will be facilitated by the Yoga Shrink, Christen Scott, Psy.D.

40 Days to Personal Revolution will Change Your Body and Transform Your Life!

“A breakthrough program to radically change your body and awaken the sacred with your soul.”
This program is a commitment to deepen your yoga practice and start living yoga on and off the mat. It is combination of daily yoga, meditation, diet insight, and personal reflection, with each week centered on a theme. Regardless of your level of yoga experience, this program will create lightness in your body, clarity in your mind, and an awakening of your spirit.

You will:
Practice: Yoga 6 days a week (either studio or home practice)
Meditate: Twice a day
Diet Insight: Weekly dietary themes focused on eating for balance
Personal Reflection: Journal exercises about beliefs, stories, and thoughts that are holding you back from being your most powerful self
Weekly Group Meetings: It all comes together at our weekly group meetings where we explore the week’s theme further and receive support and guidance from the group and the facilitator.

Meeting Dates & Times: Wednesdays 7:30pm- 8:45pm (Evening Group) or Thursdays 10:45am- 12:00pm (Morning Group) *You choose your group.

Yoga Anatomy

with Amy Walter, MAT, ERYT-200, RYT-500

Dates: Friday, 10/16/15- Sunday, 10/18/15

Fee: $495 (by 10/02/15); $595 (after 10/02/15)

This interactive basic anatomy course is designed for yoga teachers and serious yoga students who want to improve their understanding of the musculoskeletal system during movement and poses.You Will Learn:-Anatomical vocabulary to assist further independent study of the body;
-The structure and function of major joints;
-How specific muscles create specific joint movement in poses;
-How to teach your students to use ground reaction forces to change the forces across their joints in poses;
-Modifications for progression, injury and skeletal variations;
-The role of soft tissue (ligaments, joint capsules, muscles);
-Proper mechanics for assisting poses;
-Strategies for yoga class design to reduce risk of injury.
Tuition includes unlimited classes at PYT from 10/16- 10/18/15.
This course runs from Friday (10/16/15) through Sunday (10/18/15).

Saturday: 8am- 6pm

***Yoga Teachers earn Continuing Education (CEUs) for Yoga Alliance.***

Power at the Wall

with Amy Walter, MAT, ERYT-200, RYT-500

Date: Sunday, 10/18/15

Time: 4:30- 6:00pm

Fee: $30 for members; $35 for everyone else

Find new possibilities in your yoga practice by using the wall as your tool. Discover your muscles, improve your balance, enhance your standing postures and safely prepare your body for arm balances and inversions with the wall. After powering up your practice, we will turn the wall into a restorative aid. Class will end with a series of relaxing poses using the wall as a support. Take this workshop and turn your yoga practice upside down.
What to bring: mat, towel and lots of water.

Teacher’s Assistant Certification

with Christen Scott, Psy.D., ERYT-500

Dates: Friday, 11/13/15- Sunday, 11/15/15

Fee: $495 (by 10/31/15); $595 (after 10/31/15)

Join Christen Scott, ERYT-500, for this hands-on, fun-filled weekend. Assisting is not about fixing a student’s alignment; it is about offering ease and possibility to students. Learn alignment principles and how to create muscle memory for your students so they can experience a more empowered practice. You will learn how to assist a student in class (an in-class private) and an entire room full of students. We will explore yoga philosophy and how it pertains to being a teacher’s assistant. By the end of this training, you will assist an entire power yoga class! Whether you are looking to deepen your own practice, get a taste of what teacher training is like, or for teachers wanting to sharpen their assisting skills, this is the training for you.
***Yoga Teachers earn 14 CEU credits with Yoga Alliance in Techniques, Training and Practice.***
Tuition includes unlimited classes at PYT from 11/13- 11/15/15.
